Savings & Employee Retirement Plan (SAVER)

Designed to help our officers and their families secure their future.

SAVER Account

This account aims to help officers build up a financial reserve for their transition to a second career after the SAF. MINDEF/SAF will contribute a flat rate of 15% to the account, starting from the first year of service until the SAVER end date.

SAVER Bonus

A retention bonus given to officers when they reach the ages of 25, 28, 31 and 34. The quantum paid at the four payment points are: (a) up to five months of last drawn salary at ages 25 and 28; (b) up to six months of last drawn salary at ages 31 and 34.

Flexible benefits (FLEX)

You will receive $800 - $1,000 FLEX credits a year, which can be used to pay for your insurance, vacations, education and medical needs.

Medisave-cum-Subsidised Outpatient (MSO) Scheme

You will receive additional Medisave contributions and enjoy up to 85% subsidy for yourself and 60% for your dependants on outpatient treatment.

Sign-on Bonus

If you are not starting on or undergoing sponsored studies, you will receive a one-time Sign-on Bonus of $20,000 - $32,000.
