1971/09 - Paya Lebar Air Base
1971
Paya Lebar Air Base, originally built in 1954, became a military base in 1967 and now houses the C-130 Hercules and F-15SG aircraft.
Paya Lebar Air Base (PLAB) was originally built in 1954 to replace Kallang Airport as Singapore International Airport. It was gradually converted into a military base from late 1967 and took its current name when civilian airport operations moved to Changi Airport in 1981. PLAB now houses aircraft such as the C-130 Hercules and the F-15SG.

The RSAF took over Paya Lebar Airport and converted it into a military base in 1981.

Lebar Air Base's air traffic control centre has been in use since the days when it first opened as a civilian Airport.
