The RSAF introduced the Chief Warrant Officer rank to recognise outstanding Warrant Officers for their significant contributions.

At the SAF Promotion Ceremony on 17 July 2012, the Chief Warrant Officer rank was introduced to recognise Warrant Officers for their signi­ficant contributions in higher appointments.

Singapore military rank insignia: sergeant, with three chevrons and "SINGAPURA" text.
