SAF Engineering Scholarship
The SAF Engineering Scholarship is for aspiring engineers with sharp minds and a passion for the nation. It provides education and training to lead research and development, supporting our country's efforts to build a next-generation military force.

The SAF Engineering Scholarship is for the aspiring engineer with a brilliant mind and a heart for the nation. The scholarship equips you with the education and training you need to lead in-depth research and development, so you may do your part to augment our country's efforts to build a next-generation military force.
After you graduate, you will take on a range of challenging appointments in MINDEF/SAF as a military engineer. You may also be presented with opportunities to be part of the Defence Technology Community. (e.g. Defence Science and Technology Agency [DSTA] and DSO National Laboratories.)
Application period
Male applicants:
September – April annually
Female applicants:
April – August annually
What it covers
Full sponsorship e.g. tuition fees and other approved academic charges to pursue engineering studies at renowned overseas or local universities
Departure for studies in the year of award
Monthly salary and maintenance allowance (e.g. books, clothing, computer etc.) for the duration of studies
Eligibility criteria
Singapore citizens or permanent residents intending to take up citizenship
Good GCE 'A' Level results or International Baccalaureate results, Polytechnic Diploma (with Merit) or equivalent
Good co-curricular activities (CCA) records
Possess strong interest in pursuing a military engineering career in the SAF
Accepted courses of study
You may choose to pursue any of the following disciplines:
Aerospace Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Is there a bond?
The bond will be for 6 years, and will commence immediately upon graduation and return to service.
